Fire Starting

On July 29th, 2024 the crew had the opportunity to complete the Introduction to Fire Starting.

They learned how to look for a safe place to build their fire pit. To clean the area and make sure there was no debris.

They were taught how to behave around an open fire. They also learned how to handle a fire extinguisher and prevent forest fires.

We had to stop from actually starting the fire for this introduction due to a provincial fire-starting ban.

After this event, by the Autumn of 2024, the JAC program changed its training platform. Fire making was picked up with more intensity in November of 2024

Between November of 2024 and January 2025 the Adventurers did a complete course study on Fire Starting.

When all lesson levels were completed, a review day was held. The Adventurers who could demonstrate their ability to start and maintain a fire without active help from instructors successfully completed the Fire-Making Level.
