HUNTING INTRO AND LEVEL 1 PART 1 - OCTOBER 21ST, 2023
On this day, we had woken up from a night in the woods. The Junior Members also achieved their level 1 and level 3 endurance levels this day. Level 1 is camping in nice, warm weather. Level 3 is camping in dampness and or rain. The kids and their families arrived at the campsite dry and warm. They woke up to rain and chills. Good job everyone. (Level 2 is Cold Weather/Winter Camping)
Good job as well, after having a damp morning, and doing so well taking in all the safety information concerning knives and other tools we will be using in the Hunting program.
At this point, the Adventurers have learned and reviewed the path snare and spring snare. There are still a few more snares and traps for them to learn before they will have completed their hunting/snaring level.
The Adventurers have had their opportunity to learn how to safely handle a gun and a bow. They all learned what their dominant eye is and why it's important to know what it is. The Adventurers all displayed great discipline while handling the BB guns and youth bows. The only thing harmed that day was some paper and styro foam targets.
October 5th, 2024 - Continued Improvement and Review on Gun and Bow
We have seen improvement for a lot of the Adventurers. Their gun and bow handling has greatly improved. We are looking forward to their continued chances to grow and learn these vital skills.
